Registration is now open for applications for the allocation of housing that the Municipality of Famalicão is building/renovating for affordable rental, a new segment of public housing in the municipality.
In this first phase of registration, the process can be done through the portal viver.famalicao.pt or in person, by prior appointment with the Municipality's Housing Division.
Registration is mandatory for those who wish to apply for the housing lottery under the Housing Access Support Programme – 1st Right, which in this first phase will put 210 homes of various types on the market.
The registration procedure must be initiated by registering, which can only be done by individuals - each household can only register once on the platform. Applicants must answer the questionnaire and attach the requested documentation, following the steps until the end of the procedure, which will only then be considered valid.
Eligibility criteria include being a national or foreign citizen with a residence permit in the country, living in substandard housing and being employed or retired/a pensioner. All criteria can be found in the registration notice, also available on the viver.famalicao.pt portal.
This registration phase precedes the application process and will serve to pre-evaluate eligible candidates for the competition and draw for housing. It should be noted that the registration procedure is only for admission to the competition and runs until the draw for housing.
It should be remembered that the Famalicense local authority's commitment to this sector is developing on several fronts, with responses that seek to solve the housing problems of Famalicense residents, starting with the construction of new homes intended for rent to households whose incomes do not allow them to find housing solutions on the open rental market.
