The countdown has begun for one of the biggest sporting events of the year. The 10th Famalicão Sports Gala will take place on 9th of November at 21h00 at the Famalicão Municipal Pavilion, featuring athletes, coaches, managers and clubs that stood out during the last sporting season.
A total of 249 athletes and 12 coaches from Famalicão will be honoured for the national and international titles they won in the 2024 and 2024/2025 sporting seasons, in dozens of different sports.
Before the Famalicenses D'Ouro award ceremony, note that online voting is open for the ‘Sports Event of the Year’ award, the only award selected by the public, which has three competitors: XV Jogos do Eixo Atlântico (Association of the Atlantic Axis of the Northwest Peninsula), Famalicão Dança 2024 (Gindança Academy) and Famalicão Half Marathon 2024 (Runporto).
Public voting is now open and will run until midnight on 6 November (Thursday) on the website www.famalicaodesportivo.pt.
In addition to this award, the 10th Sports Gala will also present jury awards in the categories ‘Sports Association/Club of the Year,’ ‘Manager of the Year,’ ‘Coach of the Year,’ ‘Female Breakthrough Athlete of the Year,’ ‘Male Breakthrough Athlete of the Year,’ ‘Referee of the Year’, ‘Sports Event of the Year’ and ‘Excellence Award’.
The 10th Sports Gala will be broadcast live on the Famalicão local authority's Facebook page (www.facebook.pt/municipiodevnfamalicao) or by accessing the page www.famalicao.pt.
It should be noted that at the 9th edition of the Sports Gala, 215 athletes, coaches, associations, clubs and sports managers were honoured for the national and international titles they achieved in 34 sports in the 2023 and 2023/2024 seasons. Also noteworthy was the awarding of the ‘Excellence Award’ to AFSA - Associação de Futebol de Salão Amador de Vila Nova de Famalicão (Vila Nova de Famalicão Amateur Indoor Football Association).
