From Arnoso to Vilarinho das Cambas, Teatro N'Aldeia once again travels the four corners of the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, bringing with it the charm of Famalicão's amateur theatre.
With a programme of nearly forty shows with free admission, from 13 September to 14 December there will be plenty of reasons for the people of Famalicão to leave the comfort of their homes and immerse themselves in the stories and characters performed by six local amateur theatre groups.
The 9th edition of Teatro N'Aldeia will kick off on 13 September with Greculeme - Grupo Recreativo e Cultural de Lemenhe, which will stage the play ‘Um Hotel Modelo’ at 21h30 at Multiusos de Nine.
In addition to this collective, by the end of the year there will also be shows starring: Academia Alçapão (‘O Confessionário VII’), NEXT project (‘Amores de Perdição’), Ribeirão Musical Community Theatre (‘Vários Casos e um Sobretudo’), PASEC – Platform of Socio-Educational and Cultural Animators (‘Os Caminhos da Transição e Regeneração, como é que ninguém se lembrou disto antes?’) and NUTEACV – Theatre Group of the Cultural Association of Vermoim (‘A Pior Aldeia de Portugal’) in parish halls, auditoriums and multipurpose venues throughout the municipality.
It should be noted that Teatro N’Aldeia is an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão since 2015 and has the Parish Councils and cultural associations of Famalicão as its main partners. It is a project that has established itself as a successful municipal cultural decentralisation strategy, bringing the work of local amateur theatre groups to the entire municipality, with a view to promoting the performing arts and training new audiences.
