Last Saturday, 12 July, Gondifelos and Outiz gained better conditions for sports, the result of a municipal investment of more than 180,000 euros.
It was a festive afternoon for the Associação Desportiva de Gondifelos (Gondifelos Sports Association), with the inauguration of the football pitch's new synthetic turf, now available to the club's 100 or so players who are about to start the next season. The new pitch is the result of a municipal investment of 150,000 euros.
On the same day, Outiz saw the conditions of its Mesh Field, located in the parish's Sports Park, improved. The ground is now covered, allowing the sport to be played all year round, regardless of the weather conditions. The work, which represents an important step towards enhancing local sport, received municipal support totalling 31,000 euros.
The mayor, Mário Passos, who emphasised the importance of continuing to support the municipality’s sports associations, attended both events. ‘The spaces we're inaugurating today are another step in the ongoing support we've given to the municipality's sports associations and the promotion of sport, whatever the discipline,’ he emphasised.
