This Sunday, December 10, the Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Mário Passos, marked the beginning of the construction of what will be the "Casa de Arnoso", a multi-purpose space that is being built in the parish of Arnoso Santa Maria and which "will be the stage for the activity of the many associations in this area of the Vale do Este, which when the work is finished will bring the space to life," said Mário Passos.
This facility will allow the Parish Union of Arnoso Stª Maria, Stª Eulália and Sezures to develop a cultural programme and boost various recreational activities. "I'm sure it will be a project that will mark the future of this community, which is so involved in the associative dynamics of a true union of parishes."
The President of the Parish Council, Jorge Amaral, spoke of "a necessary project since there is no multipurpose space that can host cultural activities and all the large-scale events organised by the local associations".
It should be noted that the first phase of the work is already underway and has received municipal financial support of 149,000 euros for demolition work on the existing building and the start of the structural construction of the future "Casa de Arnoso".
