Storytelling, workshops, animation with games, face painting and lots of music and dancing are some of the activities taking place over the weekend in Parque da Devesa, from 10h00 to 12h30 and from 15h00 to 19h00.

‘It's going to be two days full of fun and adventure for the youngest,’ said Mário Passos, mayor of Famalicão, who also invited Famalicão's families: ‘I hope you enjoy these two days of festivities, spend quality time together and take lots of good family moments away from Devesa.’

The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão in partnership with INDI - Ótica Infantil; Associação Desperta e Brinca; Apolo Famalicão; Fundação Castro Alves; An Dança-Conservatório de Dança de VNF; Double Decker - Academia de Educação e Línguas, Lda.; Fundação Cupertino de Miranda; Urbidente - Centro de Medicina Dentária e Implantologia, Lda. ARTIS - Academia de Bailado; Projeto Mais Vale Prevenir; FamaBasket; Famalicense Atlético Clube Handball and Basketball; Jin-She Escola Kung-Fu Wushu; Associação de Ginástica - ESACRO; Associação Gerações; Farmácia da Devesa; Farmácia de Nogueira and Desigual Driving School.

It should be remembered that UNICEF awarded Vila Nova de Famalicão the title of “Child-Friendly City” for the various programmes and projects promoted by the municipality to guarantee the full development of the youngest and their rights. 

World Children's Day is celebrated on 1 June and was first marked in 1950 at the initiative of the United Nations.
