At its last executive meeting, the Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipal Council approved the fare update for regular public passenger transport services for 2026, which establishes that municipal, general and pre-purchased passes will remain at the same price next year and that the Fare Update Rate, set at 2.28%, will be applied to single tickets.
In practice, the 2026 fare structure remains broadly the same as in 2025, with only a one-off adjustment to occasional tickets. In this way, the municipality safeguards regular public transport users and promotes sustainable mobility, while ensuring compliance with the legal framework in force.
The new fare structure will come into force on 1 January 2026 and reinforces the City Council's commitment to a balanced, responsible transport policy that is attentive to the needs of the population.
The Mobiave municipal pass remains at €30, while the general network pass for travel in the three municipalities of the network (Famalicão, Trofa and Santo Tirso) costs €40. Travel remains free for children and young people up to the age of 23. For residents aged 65 or over or retired, the municipal pass or up to three zones costs €7.50, while the pass valid for the entire network costs €10. Pre-purchased tickets remain at €1 for up to two zones and €1.50 for three or more zones. Only tickets purchased on board are subject to an increase of 5 cents, rising to €1.55 for up to two zones and €2.05 for three or more zones.
