Yesterday, Monday 19 January, the Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão resumed his tour of schools in the municipality.
Mário Passos visited Avidos Primary School, where he shared lunch with pupils, teachers and other members of the school community.
Accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Pedro Oliveira, Mário Passos assured everyone that these moments of sharing and listening to the community are here to stay. ‘Listening to students, teachers, staff and parents is essential for us to continue the great work we have been doing in the area of education,’ he stressed.
‘These moments of closeness are very important, and that is why I will continue to make a point of going out into the field and listening to the people of Famalicão, not only with regard to the reality of education, but also in relation to other areas of intervention,’ he added.
It should be noted that the Avidos Primary School was remodelled in 2023, as a result of an investment of around €1 million, which made it possible to modernise spaces and improve conditions for teaching and learning. It currently has four classrooms, attended by 83 primary school pupils.
