Sinçães Park, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, now has a new area dedicated to outdoor sports. With an investment of around €160,000, the new Fitness and Street Workout Park offers cross training equipment, obstacle courses and digital devices that allow users to monitor their training via a mobile app.
The infrastructure was designed to serve all citizens, from high-performance athletes to those who exercise for fitness.
‘An eclectic space designed for everyone.’ That is how Mário Passos, Mayor of the City Council, described the new facility inaugurated on the morning of Saturday, 17 January. For the mayor, ‘this investment prioritises the health of the people of Famalicão,’ arguing that ‘easy access to physical exercise promotes healthy lifestyle habits, and these habits naturally lead to greater well-being and a better quality of life.’
It should be noted that this project comes after a series of improvements to Sinçães Park, namely the renovation of the children's playground, the construction of the new Skate Park, the refurbishment of the building and outdoor space of the Camilo Castelo Branco Municipal Library, as well as the ongoing work to expand Sinçães Park to the Court area.
