This was a remarkable weekend for the parish of Pedome, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, which this Sunday, 29 June, opened the doors of the new headquarters of the Parish Council.
‘As well as having more and better conditions, we also have new services, such as the Citizen's Bureau, which will certainly be a benefit for our entire community,’ said José Luís Alves, chairman of Pedome Parish Council, who took the opportunity to thank the town council for ‘all its support in realising this magnificent project’.
It should be remembered that the project is the result of a municipal investment of 342,000 euros and is made up of three distinct blocks, promoting a functional and efficient working environment. The central block provides a service area with two desks and work areas for the parish council's employees, while the left-hand block houses the noble hall, a space prepared to host events, assemblies and solemn moments of community life. The right-hand block is reserved for the council's executive, with an office and a meeting room.
Mário Passos, Mayor of Famalicão, guarantees that ‘this is a long overdue project that will provide the deserved service and conditions to the community’.
It should be remembered that the old headquarters was already 35 years old and will now be available to the parish's associative movement.
