Famalicão's champions can now apply for the ‘Famalicense D'Ouro’ award. The municipal award will be presented on 9 November at the 10th Famalicão Sports Gala.
Entries and applications for this municipal recognition can be made until 15 September, using the form available on the municipality's website, at www.famalicao.pt, where it is also possible to apply for the jury's award.
The X Sports Gala, organised by the municipality of Famalicão, will once again take place at the Famalicão Municipal Pavilion, on a night when the different sports agents - managers, coaches, athletes and referees - associations and clubs from the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão will be honoured for their outstanding results of national and international merit during the 2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons.
In addition to the champions' award, the jury's awards will also be given to the most voted application in each of the eight categories in the competition: ‘Sports Association/Club of the Year’, ‘Manager of the Year’, ‘Coach of the Year’, ‘Female Breakthrough Athlete of the Year’, ‘Male Breakthrough Athlete of the Year’, ‘Referee of the Year’, ‘Sports Event of the Year’ and ‘Excellence Award’.
It should be noted that the ‘Sporting Event of the Year’ award will once again be voted for online by the public, from among the three applications with the highest scores from the jury.
It should be remembered that the 9th edition of the Sports Gala honoured 215 athletes, coaches, associations, clubs and sports managers for the national and international titles achieved in 34 sports in the 2023 and 2023/2024 seasons. Also noteworthy was the award of the ‘Excellence Prize’ to the AFSA - Vila Nova de Famalicão Amateur Indoor Football Association.
