Famalicão City Council is going to start building the new Brufe School Centre. The contract for the work, which represents a total investment of 3 million euros, was approved at the last meeting of the municipal executive on 15 May.
After the public tender phase, the contract was awarded to Cálculos & Títulos Construções, Unipessoal, Lda.
The new school will be built in Rua dos Tanques, next to the current premises of Brufe Parish Council.
‘Investing in the education and well-being of our children and those who look after them on a daily basis is a priority,’ said the Mayor, Mário Passos. "We want happy children, with good conditions for learning, studying and playing. We want them to do it with joy and with all the conditions and I'm sure that this work will certainly bring all that to the children of Brufe and to the entire educational community of the parish," added the mayor.
In addition to the two activity rooms, the expressions room and the extension room for pre-school and the four 1st cycle classrooms, the new Brufe School Centre will also have common spaces such as atriums, a library, a canteen, playgrounds (with and without roofs), a playing field and a vegetable garden. Teachers and assistants will have at their disposal a pantry, a teachers' room, an office, among others.
The project, which has applied to the Norte 2030 Regional Programme, has an execution time of 480 days.
