The promotion of agriculture in Famalicão was the focus of the 2nd meeting of Fagricoop (Vila Nova de Famalicão Agricultural Cooperative) members, held this Thursday, 12 March. The event, which aims to strengthen unity within the sector and promote local production in the municipality, was attended by the Mayor, Mário Passos, who highlighted the
“vital role of small-scale producers in the sustainability of the region”, stating that the local authority will continue to be
“an active partner in promoting what is ours”.
Manuel Figueiras, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fagricoop, highlighted the growth and professionalization of the sector in the municipality and addressed the structural challenges facing the cooperative. “Fagricoop’s future depends on the consolidation of solid partnerships, with the municipality’s support being the key driver in ensuring the continuity of our operations,” he said.
The leader also highlighted the “total openness” of the Municipal Council as a fundamental pillar for overcoming obstacles and ensuring the success of ongoing initiatives. This strategic partnership will have a profound impact on the local economy, stimulating local consumption and ensuring a more prosperous future for families who depend on the land.
