The 5th Chapter of Poética da Palavra - Theatre Encounters of Casa das Artes de Famalicão started last weekend with a show, a workshop and a round table, attracting hundreds of people of all ages.
On the 17th, the Café-Concerto filled up with a mostly young audience to participate in the Round Table that debated the theme Dramaturgy. Luís Mestre, director and playwright, moderated the discussion, which had Jorge Palinhos, playwright and director of the ESAP Theatre Course, as the main speaker.
On the nights of March 17 and 18, the play "Lear" by William Shakespeare was presented, in a co-production of Casa das Artes de Famalicão with Didascália Theatre, Bolhão Theatre and D. Maria II National Theatre. At the end, the audience could chat with the cast.
On the morning of March 18, under the guidance of the company Krisálida, children and adults took part in Marionetão, a practical workshop on puppet design and construction.
In the Small Auditorium, in the afternoon of March 18, the film "Oedipus King" directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini was projected. For those who may find a film scheduled in the Theatre Encounters strange, it should be noted that "Oedipus King" is a play of the classical theatre, written by Sophocles and which in this case became cinema by the hand of Pasolini, himself a playwright of reference.
