In 2024, Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council has already allocated more than 7 million euros to the parishes of the municipality for the development of various projects and interventions that will promote the development of the territory and the well-being of all Famalicenses.
In addition to the transfer of free funds, at the beginning of 2024, totalling 2.2 million euros, the municipal executive's support also reaches the Parish Councils through the delegation of competences and the allocation of financial and non-financial support, which in 2024 already exceeds 4 million euros. When all is said and done, these figures already exceed the support granted by the City Council in 2023.
"We are working closely with the parishes, which play a crucial role in the cohesive development of our territory. Last year, we exceeded what we had initially planned and, as was the case this year, we will also continue to direct financial and non-financial resources so that the councils can continue to realise their projects," says Mário Passos.
These projects have also been the focus of the mayor's attention during his various trips around the area. On Tuesday 6 August, in Antas and Abade de Vermoim, Mário Passos had the opportunity to see for himself the results of the latest investments in this parish union. This is the case with the remodelling of the roof of the old parish residence that will be the future headquarters of the scout group, the second phase of the paving of Rua de S. Cláudio and the extension of the wastewater drainage network in the same street and the paving of Travessa de São Cláudio.
