Riba de Ave | Narciso Ferreira Theatre - 21h30

Following on from the previous album based on the electronic universe of Nordic glaciers, which premiered in 2023 at the Narciso Ferreira Theatre, "California by Candlelight" is an exclusive presentation of the latest work by Anglo-Flemish artist Sandy Kilpatrick, inspired by the landscapes and musical history of California. In this set of songs, Kilpatrick returns to the acoustic guitar, the instrument that brought him to music in the first place. Kilpatrick has been a long-time fan of much of the music that has emerged from California since the 1970s, a legendary period of songwriting that saw classic works emerge from greats such as Van Morrison, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. More recently, he has been inspired by a wave of Californian songwriters who share his spiritual connection to the land, such as Ry X, who, like Kilpatrick, mixes delicate electronics with acoustic guitar, evoking the hazy warmth of Topanga Canyon.
Sometimes there's no better way to feel a song than the sound of a beautiful melody, a powerful story and an acoustic guitar. For this unmissable show, André Silvestre, João Robim and special guest Aurora Miranda will accompany Kilpatrick.
