Pedro Cardoso (Peixe) is an inescapable name in Portuguese music. He was the guitarist in the band Ornatos Violeta, today considered one of the most important Portuguese bands of all time and one that marked the so-called "modern Portuguese music" in an unavoidable way. In 2002, after Ornatos split up, he formed the rock band Pluto, with whom he appeared at the Narciso Ferreira Theatre in December 2022. "Motor" is his second solo record and was released on 9 March 2015.

"I almost always find myself composing in the theatre and almost never in the studio, which is the space intended for this activity in the first place. It's natural that the living room, not being a work space, has an analytical rather than emotive opinion and that its reflexes stimulate the instinct to look for sounds that escape the cruel fate of the craft. I don't have to think about them. I made them in the living room, sitting on the sofa while the walls thought for me, telling me what they liked and what they didn't."
