In 2024, Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council has already channelled more than one million euros to the parishes of the municipality, either through direct support approved by the municipal executive or through the delegation of powers.
These are significant projects for the development of the territory and the well-being of the Famalicense community. This is the case with the refurbishment of the Chapel of Santa Catarina and the surrounding area in Calendário, the construction of structures for the installation of ATMs, the refurbishment of the picnic area in Largo do Senhor dos Aflitos, the construction of the Gondifelos Mortuary, the refurbishment of the Coura Playground in Nine, the reinforcement of the sewage network, among other projects that this year have already received support from the municipal executive.
"We're talking about investments that are much sought after by the population and that's why the City Council will be here to continue supporting the Parish Councils in realising these projects that will respond to the needs presented by the territory and our people," commented the Mayor, Mário Passos.
These needs have been the focus of the mayor's itinerary, which has taken him around the municipality on visits to the parishes.
It should also be noted that this year, the Famalicense municipality will be channelling more than 2.2 million euros in free funds to the parish councils in the municipality, in a clear commitment to the autonomy of local executives.
In addition to financial support, the municipality has also granted various non-financial supports to the parishes, which include the provision of building materials, the implementation of projects, bio-healthy equipment, among others.
