The work is being developed by a knowledge that is being deepened through demanding attention and research. The results are the parts that complement each other and make the whole possible. The creative process is fuelled by a curiosity that seeks revelation. Rui Sanches presents us with sculpture and drawings as records that seek to reveal the results of creative thought and sensitivity. Challenges for the understanding of space and perception, where the letters are formed as sculpture, are stimuli for reading beyond the word. A work that challenges itself in order to challenge us to understand the mystery of creation.

Biographical note:
Rui Sanches (Lisbon, 1954) began his plastics training at Ar.Co in Lisbon. On his return to Portugal, he taught at Ar.Co, where he was also head of the Sculpture Department and a member of the Board of Directors, and at IADE. He has exhibited collectively since 1985 and individually since 1984, both in Portugal and abroad. In the 1980s and 1990s he was involved in the management of the FCG's CAM, curating exhibitions.
