ADOLFO LUXÚRIA CANIBAL and MARTA ABREU have known each other for a long time. However, they had never thought of working together, although that's how they met, when Marta Abreu (previously bassist with the Voodoo Dolls) joined Mão Morta in 2001. Despite a brief stint with Cadeira Eléctrica (2013-2016), music wasn't part of their plans. It took a pandemic to change all that. Confined, they armed themselves with books, an i-pad and an old electric piano they had at home, filming and publishing online some poems read with sound environments. Urged to record their work, in 2020 they recorded "Goela Hiante" (Cobra Discos), an album of dark and gloomy poetry, interpreted as only Adolfo Luxúria Canibal can, served by minimal, obsessive and claustrophobic music, exquisitely created by Marta Abreu with keyboards, i-pad and synthesiser applications.
