Casa do Território programme

Devesa Park | Casa do Território

Free admission | Opening: February 08  at 16h30

Since the inauguration of Devesa Park and the opening of Casa do Território, you may have come across a small display placed in the entrance corridor with pieces or fragments of pieces that change and attract more or less attention. This is an activity carried out monthly by the Archaeology Office, which consists of selecting one or more archaeological materials and displaying them in a contextualised way. Initially called "12 months 12 pieces", it has changed with the times to "archaeology piece of the month" and currently "Archaeology Highlights ...".

More than 10 years after the start of this activity, which was only suspended during lockdown, the aim is to bring together the 139 objects or assemblages in a single exhibition, showcasing the 13 referenced sites, the work carried out in the field of archaeology and raising awareness of the protection of this heritage, demonstrating the archaeological potential of Famalicense's territory.
