After losing his wife and son in an earthquake, Shakib survives as best he can on the meagre money he earns working in construction. With no place to live, he sleeps wherever he can. The only thing that keeps him going is Ladan, a deaf prostitute. One day, he is approached to work as an extra in a film on World War II, and later as the main character. This will give him some encouragement to rebuild his life and face the future differently. But Ladan's presence could throw everything away. In competition at the Venice Film Festival 2022 - where it won the Orizzonti Award for Best Film and Best Actor - this drama is directed and written by Iranian Houman Seyyedi.
