A free and contemporary adaptation for theatre, of the homonymous work by Bernardo Santareno. The main character is Joana, a young girl who lives in Aldeia Velha and is the most beautiful girl in the village. For that reason, she arouses strong feelings in all the inhabitants of the village: great passion in the boys, who dispute her love and great envy in the other women, who accuse her of being possessed by the devil and of bringing all kinds of misfortune into their lives. Meanwhile, a new priest arrives in the village, who decides to defend Joana from the accusations made against her and to confront the women, including her own mother.
