A man enters a cemetery to ask his dead wife for a divorce. Now Somewhere Else is a monologue that plunges into the abyss of loss, where time seems to stand still and grief becomes an impossible burden to bear. After his wife's death, João finds himself pressured to fulfil her last wish: to move on.
However, he makes an extreme and unusual decision — to go to the cemetery to ask his wife for a divorce. With writing that balances drama and acid humour, this play explores the invisible effects of grief, the difficult reconstruction of identity after years of sharing and a love that refuses to die. The tension between memory and the need to move on is the thread that runs through this inner journey. Now Somewhere Else is not a story of overcoming. It is a desperate attempt to continue. Between laughter and pain, João asks: What if hating is the only way to continue?
