The FIO is organised by Tagus-Atlanticus Associação Cultural, a non-profit cultural association that since 2011 holds events with the aim of disseminating and promoting Ibero-American culture and heritage, and by the company JMS Organaria, founded in 2015 and specialising in the construction of reed pipes for organs and the restoration of historical instruments. Marco Brescia is an Italian pianist and organist of Brazilian origin residing in Portugal since 2007, he began his musical studies on the piano, an instrument that earned him first place in the X Arnaldo Estrella National Piano Competition and the prize for best accompanying pianist in the VIII Pro-Música National Strings Competition (BRA). As a performer, Marco Brescia is regularly invited to perform in the most prestigious international festivals of Pipe organ and Early Music, he is artistic director of FIO, as well as a researcher at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences / NOVA of Lisbon, integrated in CESEM - Centre for the Study of Sociology and Musical Aesthetics.
