Every year from September 16th to 22nd, European citizens have the opportunity to celebrate a whole week of activities dedicated to sustainable mobility, with the objective of promoting a wide debate about the need to change attitudes and behaviours regarding mobility, in particular regarding the use of the car.

The theme of the European Mobility Week for this year 2021 will have the slogan "Move sustainably. Be healthy." The European Commission has chosen this theme in order to pay tribute to the difficulties experienced by Europe, and the world, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It also promotes reflection on the opportunities for change resulting from this health crisis in Europe. With this slogan, "Move sustainably. Be healthy", the community is encouraged to keep fit and mentally fit while exploring the beauty of the city, region or country, respecting the environment, our health and that of others, by taking care of our choice of transport.

This year, the City Council of Vila Nova de Famalicão through the Departments of Mobility, Sports and Youth, and accepting the challenge of the Ministry of the Environment, will promote a set of animation activities that aim to promote and raise the awareness of the whole community for a more sustainable and active mobility and for a greater use of soft modes of mobility, in order to meet the National Strategy for Clickable Active Mobility (ENMAC) and the Action Plan for Active Mobility - Pedestrian and Clickable Mobility of Vila Nova de Famalicão.
