A village lost in the foothills of the Serra Amarela, Gerês, and its community life, one of the few remaining integral experiences of agro-pastoral communitarianism in Portugal, will be destroyed by the dammed waters of a large "strategic" dam. Integration will be difficult, but finally achieved, and Campos records the final tasks, such as the last corn harvest, the last procession, the hopeless maintenance of the last traditional dykes. The documentary was nominated for the Critics' Prize at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1972.
