The exhibition brings together works by two painters from Famalicão, Adias Machado, from Oliveira de São Mateus, and David Lopes, from Nine, marking the start of a series of initiatives that the Lousado Railway Museum has to offer the public in 2024.

Adias Machado is a man of the arts and letters, a recognised humanist painter who constantly searches for the essence of life, in the face of the concerns of human beings today. His canvases reveal the ritualistic coexistence of countless characters in different states of mind, both through feelings and affections and through the manifestation of nature. In this duplicity, the artist reveals the creative restlessness that provokes those who look closely at his work, allowing for a plurality of interpretations.

"so that I don't have to cling to what I am... I simply fly..." Adias Machado

David Lopes is a visual artist who combines art, ingenuity, spirituality and generosity. His incessant search for beauty makes him a painter of light and backlight, especially when he sees himself as a landscape artist. Using various techniques, oil on canvas, acrylics and even mixed techniques, the artist brings his choice of place, the feeling that seduces him and the observation of the moment into his work. He reveals himself as a lover of nature and his land.

"The colours by the sea are not the same as the colours by the mountains... the air is different..."  David Lopes
