Occupation is an artistic and community intervention project that proposes a critical dialogue about the spaces occupied — and unoccupied — by people with disabilities in contemporary society. Through a collaborative and inclusive approach, the project seeks to provoke reflection and artistic expression on the physical, social and symbolic barriers that limit the full participation of people with disabilities in different contexts of community life.
The Artistic Residency with the Community #02 [Circus] ‘Occupation’ is a community co-creation project in the field of Contemporary Circus that will take place at CSIF in Fradelos, Ribeirão and Vilarinho das Cambas between November 2025 and February 2026, under the artistic direction of INAC - National Institute of Circus Arts. This is the result of the second of 10 artistic residencies in the area of community co-creation, which will be developed in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão between October 2025 and May 2027, as part of the Há Cultura 2024-2027 project, promoted by the Municipality of Famalicão and co-financed by the European Union through NORTE 2030, with the aim of building artistic co-creation projects with the local community and the most vulnerable groups in the territory.
