Famalicão Carnival is the most fun and spontaneous in the country. On the night before Shrovetide, the city is flooded with the good humour, joy and creativity of thousands of people who choose Vila Nova de Famalicão to experience this night of revelry. A tradition that dates back to the 1980s, it has been growing ever since and is already a national phenomenon. Entire families, groups of friends, more or less organised teams invade the city in a contagious movement of joy and revelry. The bars and cafés open their doors and join the party with their DJs offering music to the revellers into the early hours of the morning. A collective mega-party where everyone has fun and the only rule is to come in costume.
The journeys are free, just turn up at the stops, and check the BUS LINES.
