Over the last few decades of debate around the archaeology and heritage of industrialisation in Portugal, there has been no shortage of concrete examples of different heritage sensitivities coming to the fore. We are referring to cases that have brought into the public arena questions about the preservation, loss, reuse and even musealization of industrial spaces and contents. As examples of some of these cases, we've put together a sample centred on the metropolitan area of Porto, bringing together a set of examples that, over the last 70 years, have generated more or less public debate around industrial heritage. The majority of the cases presented are all from the last 40 years, where the concepts of raising awareness and preserving industrial heritage, although constantly reflecting and evolving, have already been recognised in the discussion. The different receptivities to these concerns, however, reflected different results.
These conferences are certified as a Short Term Action for teachers and registration is required at the Camilo Castelo Branco School Training Centre in Vila Nova de Famalicão or via the link https://forms.gle/yzCTwspzMqDJuDEy6.
