The ars ad hoc is an ensemble created in 2018 by "Arte no Tempo", which distinguishes itself by moving with equal "ease" through the great classics of chamber music and the latest musical creation. The programme for their first performance at the Narciso Ferreira Theatre reflects this dialogue, combining two works from the great orchestral repertoire reduced for 'pierrot quintet' (flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano): Debussy's Prélude à l'après midi d'un faune [1894] and Stravinsky's Trois Mouvements de Pétrouchka [1921] - with two more recent ones: a trio by Clara Iannotta (1983), an Italian composer to whose music the ars ad hoc is devoting special attention this season, and a quintet composed for the ensemble by Portuguese composer Carlos Lopes (1995), commissioned by Arte no Tempo.
