Entry: 4 euros | Rating: M/12 | Duration: 75 min

Original title: La voz humana (Spain, 2020) | Director: Pedro Almodóvar | Starring: Tilda Swinton, Agustín Almodóvar, Miguel Almodóvar, Pablo Almodóvar

For several years, Pedro Almodóvar had wanted to adapt "The Human Voice", from 1930, a play by Jean Cocteau, to which he had already borrowed elements from films such as "Women on the Verge of a Fit of Nerves", from 1988, and for several years, the Spanish director had wanted to make a film in English. These wills were met at the same time, in the midst of a pandemic, with this half-hour short film focused on a woman also on the verge of a nervous breakdown, who was just left by a lover. It plays in theatres followed by a conversation with Almodóvar and Swinton hosted by British critic Mark Kermode.

The Human Voice is a film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, based upon the play of the same name by Jean Cocteau. It stars Tilda Swinton and is Almodóvar's first movie acted in English.
