The Diary of Otsoga
Thu 30 Sep
Cineclube de Joane Programme

Casa das Artes, Small Auditorium | 21h45

Entry: 4 euros | Original Title: Diário de Otsoga (Portugal, 2021) | Directed by: Maureen Fazendeiro, Miguel Gomes | Cast: Crista Alfaiate, Carloto Cotta, João Nunes Monteiro | Rating: M/12 | Duration: 100 min

In a state of confinement, a cinema team isolates itself in a farm in Sintra to make a film. Throughout the days, Crista, Carloto and João try to create their characters, but a series of incidents involving all the team creates moments of tension and anxiety that complicate the creative process. In an attempt to overcome the problems, they decide to organise a party. As the title itself suggests, the proposal of the title is to annul any surprise effect in the narrative, inverting the sense of the "spoiler": the film begins at the end and, day after day, goes "forward" in relation to its beginning. In this process of an "inverted chronology", the characters "return" in actress (Crista Alfaiate) and actors (Carloto Cotta and João Nunes Monteiro) and the usual creative collaborators appear on screen (Mariana Ricardo, Vasco Pimentel, Patrick Mendes, among others).

Note: The tickets for the film sessions shown at Casa das Artes de Vila Nova de Famalicão programmed by "Cineclube de Joane" are sold on the day of the session itself, 30 minutes before the beginning of the session.
