Salvador Sobral presents his latest studio album. Released worldwide on 28 May, "bpm" marks the first time that Salvador Sobral ventures into publishing a record composed entirely of originals of his own, in partnership with Leo Aldrey, who also signs the production of the record. "sangue do meu sangue" (blood of my blood), the first single taken from a set of 14 unreleased songs, is already playing on radio stations and digital platforms. "I make various decisions in different areas of life during my insomnia. I call them IPs (productive insomnia). The name of the album is the result of an IP. On a reflection on music and life, I conclude that the strongest element that unites them is the bpm (beats per minute). It is what gives us life, the heartbeats, and it is what gives a pulse to music, what makes it live. I always remember when I was in hospital: I had several electrocardiograms and, in a more delicate phase, there was a monitor that always showed my bpms. And that, oddly enough, gave me a sense of familiarity. The bpms were something I knew well from music. Therefore, it was decided there that the record would be called bpm. I could sleep in peace now. At least that night." Voice
