The requalification of community spaces, as well as the reinforcement of the available valences at this level, was what marked the working visit of the Mayor, Mário Passos, to the Parish Union of Lemenhe, Mouquim and Jesufrei, yesterday, July 5.
During his visit, accompanied by the President of the Parish, Carlos Alberto Fernandes, the leader of the municipal executive verified the progress and the needs for improvement of community spaces, among them, the Church of Lemenhe and surrounding area, which is undergoing a reinforcement of sanitary equipment and improvement of the surrounding space, and the Church of Jesufrei, where the respective requalification was analysed.
The autarch also visited the facilities of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mouquim, as well as the land contiguous to the headquarters of the Parish Union of Mouquim, where the creation of the new headquarters of the Junta de Freguesia is foreseen, as well as a park for educational, recreational and leisure purposes. It also passed by the old school building of Salgueiros, space that suffered requalification works as a result of a municipal investment around 19 thousand euros.
The displacement also included the passage through several streets, namely, Montalvão street and Costa street, whose remodelling of the water supply network was recently completed, as well as the EM 571-1 that underwent upgrading works in the last two years, representing a municipal investment of over 800 thousand euros.
"The planned structuring projects are being carried out and I believe that the future will be even brighter for these parishes, above all, with regard to improving the well-being of the community", commented the mayor. "I am very pleased to see that, even involving three apparently distinct localities, their people are united in the development of the territory that they share today", said Mário Passos.
During the meeting with nearly fifty representatives of the community of Lemenhe, Mouquim and Jesufrei with the mayor of Lemenhe, the community of the Union of Parishes highlighted the lack of community facilities, giving as an example the playgrounds, and the Mayor left the intention to install spaces of this nature in each of the localities.
