The Mayor of Vila Nova de Famalicão marked today the International Day of Volunteering with the delivery of several support equipment to the Hospital Volunteers Association of the S. João de Deus Hospital.
Mário Passos met this Monday, 5 December, with the management and volunteers of the famalicense hospital unit.
The mayor, who was accompanied by the Volunteer Councilwoman, Luísa Azevedo, delivered a standing fan, a microwave oven, a coffee machine, a mini fridge, six toilet seats and six wheelchairs. Equipment donated by the Municipality, in the amount of 2,500 euros, that "will bring a greater humanization and comfort not only to patients, but also to all professionals of CHMA", said the mayor, also thanking "the dedication and delivery of all those who authentically and genuinely devote their time to a particular cause".
It should also be noted that International Volunteer Day will continue to be marked by the mayor, who, this Monday will also participate in a volunteering action in the associations Dar as Mãos and Refood and in a meeting of volunteers of the Municipal Volunteer Bank scheduled for 21:30, in the Youth House.
