The national agenda 'Discovering Industrial Tourism' will pass through Vila Nova de Famalicão on 12th, 13th and 14th April. Promoted by the Dynamic Group of the Portuguese Industrial Tourism Network, coordinated by Turismo de Portugal, the itinerary includes guided tours to two museums in Famalicão and a producer of vinho verde. All visits are free of charge, but subject to prior booking.
On April 12, the Ave Basin Textile Industry Museum, one of the regional bastions in terms of research and preservation of the Ave textile industrial heritage, will have guided tours on two occasions: at 11am and 3pm.
On Thursday, April 13, it is the turn of the Automobile Museum to be open, with guided tours also at 11am and 3pm. Upon entering this museum of over 3,000 m2, visitors will have the opportunity to 'travel' through the evolution of automobile design, from the early days to the end of the 20th century.
The 'Discovering Industrial Tourism' agenda ends its visit to Vila Nova de Famalicão at Castro Vinhos de Portugal, a family company dedicated to the production of green wines, on Friday April 14, where there will be a guided tour at 3pm. On this day, visitors will get to know the vineyard, namely its culture, the grape varieties and characteristics of the region, as well as the winery, where the winemaking process, conservation, filling, labelling and equipment functionality will be explained, culminating with a tasting of the house wine.
The initiative 'Discovering Industrial Tourism' takes place from 8th to 14th of April, and covers the entire Portuguese territory. The itinerary includes guided tours, workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, film and documentary screenings, tastings and tastings, among more than 90 experiences, with a view to revealing the heritage and living industry that characterise and differentiate Portugal's offer and territories.
