"Black Cat, White Cat" tells the story of a group of gypsies who live near of the Danube river. Matko the Gypsy lives off small, shady deals with the Russians. His first big job is to hijack a train carrying petrol from Belgrade to Turkey. In order to set up the operation he asks Dadan, the community's godfather, for money. However, the robbery goes wrong and now Matko has no money to pay Dadan. The solution is to accept the marriage between his son Zare and the godfather's cantankerous sister. But Zare is in love with Ida, a young gypsy girl whose hobby is to shoot at the boats of the people living by the river. Screening of the restored digital copy of Emir Kusturica's comedy, which won an award at the Venice Film Festival.
