To explore and value Famalicão's 'DNA' through the arts is the goal of PASEC - Plataforma de Animadores Socioeducativos e Culturais, the winner of the 2022/2023 edition of the Programar em Rede, an initiative promoted by the Vila Nova de Famalicão City Hall, which provides a sum up to a maximum of 10 thousand euros to finance a cultural project presented as a network by several entities of the municipality.
The project 'ADN', presented by PASEC, will be developed in partnership with the Artistic Centre 'A Casa ao Lado', Agrupamento de Escolas D. Maria II, Associação Famalicense de Prevenção e Apoio à Deficiência (AFPAD) and APDASC Norte - Associação Portuguesa para o Desenvolvimento da Animação Sociocultural.
Starting from a process of research-relationship-action, 'DNA' aims to lead the young and adult Famalicenses, namely those in situation of exclusion, to reflect and portray the main authors and historical figures of Famalicão, through an interactive street show and in cultural spaces with local populations throughout the municipality. The citizens in a logic of co-creation will develop the texts, soundtracks, removable sceneries, dance, and body expression staging.
Besides PASEC, Ribeirão Musical - Sociedade Artística e Musical also competed in this edition of Programar em Rede with the project 'Imbricações Artísticas'. The winning proposal for the 2022/2023 edition won about 10 of the 18 votes counted by the Municipal Council of Culture, which includes the cultural entities of the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, and the meeting took place last Monday, November 28, at Casa das Artes.
Launched in 2016, Programming in Network has already supported around six cultural cooperation projects, which constituted a municipal investment of around 59 thousand euros, having served as a lever for the implementation of "Museums Illustrated in Network" (2016), "Trace" (2017), "Poetry Invades the City" (2018), "Marc@s, Intervention by Art & Culture - For Community Cohesion" (2019), "Artistic Interventions in the Famalicão Hospital Unit" (2020) and "Overlapping Works" (2021).
