The magic of INAC's contemporary circus has already arrived at Christmas Palce. The Paper Circus tent, a space of emotion, imagination and the extraordinary, is back at the Famalicão Youth Park with the show "The Boy and the Postman", on show until 7 January 2024.
"The Boy and the Postman" is a show "imbued with all the magic and excitement of the circus, with brilliant artists", says Juliana Moura, from the National Institute of Circus Arts (INAC), the organisation promoting the project.
According to the artistic director, those who visit Circo de Papel during this Christmas season will find "a beautiful story of friendship, a generational relationship", which also addresses "the values and principles we must follow to live well and in harmony with all people and with nature".
The plot of the story unfolds around the letters delivered by the postman, 'Senhor Tomás', to a boy called 'Ivo', which throughout the show are materialised in performances by INAC's jugglers, aerialists and acrobats, in an artistic piece that explores the human connection with the world and the world that exists within each person.
The show "The Boy and the Postman" is for ages 3 and up and takes place on Fridays (21h00), Saturdays (10h00, 15h00 and 21h00) and Sundays (10h00 and 15h00), with special sessions on 24 and 31 December (10h00), and on 25 December and 1 January (17h00).
There are also sessions for schools, social centres and associations, from Tuesday to Thursday, by prior appointment through the contacts available on www.circodepapel.com, where you can also find information on ticketing conditions for the public.
Paper Circus is a project dedicated to contemporary circus and new circus, aimed at the whole family. It has been organised by INAC since 2018, with the support of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipality.
