The new edition of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipal Bulletin began to be distributed today and its opening theme is the experiences of the municipality's senior citizens and municipal policies to promote active ageing.
"We owe them (the seniors) a huge thank you for the strength they have always had (...) for everything they have done for our families and our municipality, but above all for everything they still represent," Mário Passos points out in the publication's editorial, recalling that "it is for them and with them and their well-being in mind that this executive promotes a series of measures and projects, such as the recent creation of the Municipal Network of Senior Academies."
The new issue of the newsletter published by the Town Hall also highlights "a series of structural interventions" for the future of Vila Nova de Famalicão. This is the case with the refurbishment and extension of the Padre Benjamim Salgado Secondary School in Joane, the renovated Family Health Units that are to be set up in the municipality, the future Vila - Student Residence, the set of works that will benefit various roads, among others.
The first Municipal Bulletin of 2024 also focuses on the year in which Famalicão is a European Entrepreneurial Region and on the work of Camilo Castelo Branco, with emphasis on the celebrations of the bicentenary of the author's birth, which will take place in the municipality until 16 March 2025.
There are 72 pages, which "reflect a vibrant territory that rejuvenates itself with each passing day". A municipality that "continues to tread a path of progress and development, the result of an unstoppable community, but also of a City Council that remains focused on overcoming challenges, realising ambitions and planning for the future with its eyes set on the quality of life of Famalicenses", writes the mayor.
The Municipal Bulletin is already being distributed throughout the municipality and will also be available to pick up at various municipal offices. It can also be consulted and read digitally at www.famalicao.pt/boletins-municipais.
