The Famalicão Sports Gala has registrations and applications open until 15 September. The event, organised by the Municipality of Famalicão, will take place on 12 November, at 9 pm, at the Municipal Pavilion, and aims to publicly recognise and value all those who raise the name of Famalicão through sport.

The prizes that will be awarded relate to the competitions that took place in the 2022 and 2022/2023 sports seasons, according to the competitive calendar of each sport.

The award of champions, Famalicense D'Ouro, is aimed at the different sports agents - managers, coaches, athletes and referees -, associations and clubs in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, for the meritorious results achieved at national and international level.

In addition to these, the jury awards will also be presented, awarded to the most voted application in each of the categories in the competition: "Sports Association/Club of the Year", "Manager of the Year", "Coach of the Year", " Women’s Breakthrough Athlete of the Year ", "Men’s Breakthrough Athlete of the Year", "Referee of the Year", "Excellence Award" and "Sports Event of the Year" - the latter, elected by online public vote.

For both the Champions' Award and the Jury's Award, it is mandatory to submit the application by filling in the form available at www.famalicao.pt/gala-do-desporto.
It is recalled that the 7th edition of the Sports Gala took place on 13 November 2022 at the Municipal Pavilion of Famalicão, and, in total, awards were presented to 190 athletes from Famalicão from 25 sports for the titles of champions achieved in the 2021 and 2021/2022 seasons. The "Excellence Award", which honours the sports career, was presented to cyclist Tiago Machado.
