Applications for the Municipal Financial Support Programme for Research Grants, promoted by Famalicão City Council and aimed at researchers and grant holders with ongoing research projects, are open until May 31.
The measure, which aims to promote business innovation and the development of research and innovation activities for new products or processes that help industry and its development, provides for the award of five research grants worth 5,000 euros each.
"Famalicão is a territory with a vast business fabric, where there are conditions for the development of research and innovation, and this award for scholarship holders has the primary objective of encouraging, retaining and attracting talent," points out the Mayor, Mário Passos.
It should be noted that this measure follows the implementation of the municipal strategy 'from MadeIN to CreatedIN' and the municipal strategy to support innovation. This new approach by the municipality aims to create and develop value by attracting technology-based companies, encouraging the digital and climate transition, promoting science, knowledge and technology, bringing together the entities of the Research and Innovation System (ENESII) and companies in the area, as well as creating, attracting and retaining talent and fostering social cohesion and well-being.
Applications are open on the Famalicão MadeIN website, at www.famalicaomadein.pt, where the application form is available, as well as all the regulatory information on the programme. The measure is aimed at researchers and grant holders with ongoing research projects approved by official, national or international institutions.
