Famalicão is to gain a new Activity and Training Centre for Inclusion (CACI). The consignment note for the construction of Casa do Pinheiral, ACIP's new facility in Antas, was signed on Tuesday 7th November.
The agreement was signed between ACIP and the Famalicense company Larestil Construções, Lda., responsible for building the institution's future centre, which will provide a response to 30 more young people and adults with disabilities.
The contract, with an 18-month execution period and an estimated investment of around 1.7 million euros, involves a new building in the Pinheiral area of Antas, on land granted by the Vila Nova de Famalicão municipality under a surface right, with a gross area of around 3,000 square metres.
The mayor, who attended the ceremony last Tuesday, said that this "social project will allow us to respond to citizens who need our support". "The ACIP, as well as other social solidarity organisations in the municipality, have been following a path in partnership with the City Council that has allowed us to help more and more families," said Mário Passos.
Francisco Lima, chairman of the board of ACIP, said that the signing of the contract for Casa do Pinheiral was another "demonstration to the community of our commitment, our professionalism and our determination for this great social support project". "This has been our mission for 24 years," he added.
