Cycle of Conferences 2023: The Social Issue in the First Republic (1910-1926)

Free admission

'The Social Issue of the First Republic (1910-1926)' is the theme of this year's edition of the Series of Conferences of the Bernardino Machado Museum, which runs from January to October 2023. This year's theme is, in the words of the Museum's Scientific Coordinator, inspired by the "current acceleration of social inequalities, the rising cost of subsistence and the lack of the most basic necessities for an increasing number of citizens", enhanced by the "unexpected acuity resulting from the War between Ukraine and Russia and its calamitous and painful international consequences, especially in terms of migration and the world food shortage".
