The Narciso Ferreira Theatre, in Riba de Ave, proposes, on June 3 and 4, to celebrate the World Children's Day, a puppet show dedicated to school children and families. "The Refuge" - Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora is shown, on the 3rd, at 10h00, for school children and, on the 4th, also at 10h00, a session for families.
Inspired by the story written by children "The Magical Forest", the work "Refuge" reflects the concerns for the protection of nature. "It is the stories written by children that make us look at nature. It was through one of these stories that we were led to look at nature and observe how it claims our attention. The forest was so big, it had so many trees where everyone could fit and where everyone lived..., but now there is only one tree left in the forest. Caruma and the animals do everything to protect it because man does not understand that the forest is his lung! Man has been destroying, but it is urgent to build. If we do not take concrete measures to protect the planet, man will condemn all humanity, fauna and flora to disappear", describes Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora in the synopsis.
Admission is free, but subject to the theatre's capacity. Tickets for the family session are available for pick-up an hour and a half before the show.
On the 4th, at 15h00, the puppet theatre workshop World of Cardboard, developed by Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, will also take place. Access is free and open to children and families. Those interested should indicate their interest and register via e-mail: tnf@famalicao.pt.
The workshop World of Cardboard, by Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, explores ideas and plastic expression, putting them into action. It is a theatrical game that through a process of simple design and construction, within the reach of the little ones, reveals an enormous potential both in the development of plastic arts and in the collective creation of stories, allowing an individual project, built as a team. This encourages the exteriorisation of ideas, the development of expressiveness, speech, voice projection, the deepening of ideas and concepts, which drive the manipulator to an artistic, pedagogical and playful exploration.
The programme for the month of June continues on June 17, with "Andorinhas" theatre, a co-creation project with the school community of the 1st cycle of the Pedome School Grouping, performed during the 2021/2022 school year, under the artistic direction of the famalicense theatre company Momento Artistas Independente (Rede Sobre o Palco). Sessions at 18h30 and 21h30.
The "Swallows" project is based on the essence of Theatre and everything that comes from it, such as working and understanding emotions; the concepts of freedom and personal limits; the power of imagination and creation, among others. Its main objectives are to stimulate the imagination and creativity of children and to reduce the inequalities that appear at these ages, as well as the first signs of variations in self-esteem and shyness.
The project is an action inserted in the project Há Cultura | Cultura Para Todos promoted by Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council and co-financed by NORTE 2020, through the European Social Fund (ESF).
In the cinema programming, the TNF offers, on June 18, in the sessions for families, at 16h00, ROCK DOG - HÁ FESTA NO PARQUE (Portuguese version) by Mark Baldo. On the same day, at 21h30, in the cinema for large audiences, it will be screened DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS by Sam Raimi.
For both screenings, free tickets are available for pick-up at TNF, one and a half hours before the screening.
The TNF's programme for June continues, on June 25, at 21h30, with the traditional music show, with Sérgio Mirra Trio. The voice and the Cavaquinho are the basis of this project, but the Mandolin and the regional Guitars also play an important role in the hands of Sérgio Mirra. Accompanied by two great musicians, Luís Pinho on the 7-string Guitar and Hervê Freire on percussion, they have put together a show with a collection of sung and instrumental repertoire, from the north to the south and also including the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores.
Still in the field of music, on June 29, at 19h00, there will be the show Mãe-Terra, by ArtEduca, with the Beginners Choir Class and Teachers Ensemble.
The artistic direction is by Liliana Magalhães, in an ArtEduca production and co-production: Narciso Ferreira Theatre [Casa das Artes de Famalicão].
TNF - Narciso Ferreira Theatre is a cultural structure of the Municipality with direction and management of Casa das Artes de Famalicão.
