Nancy Vieira is the next guest to take to the stage at Devesa Sunset on Friday 16 August at the end of the afternoon.
Often dubbed the heir to Cesária Évora, Nancy Vieira is one of Cape Verde's most expressive and representative voices, with music that mixes the tradition and new sounds of the islands in a particular magic, with morna and samba, fado and batuque, sophistication with jazz tones, very present in her latest album "Gente", which she will bring to Devesa this Friday.
Promoted since 2015 by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Devesa Sunset takes place on Fridays in August, in a relaxed atmosphere that brings culture together with nature. This was the case on 9 August, when hundreds of people flocked to Parque da Devesa to watch the concert by Flyte, a project by English artists Will Taylor and Nick Hill, who brought to the Devesa Sunset stage the indie/folk sound of reference in the UK, a work that deserved the applause of all those who chose the park for their Friday evening.
The concerts, which are free to attend, always take place next to the Devesa Park lake, at 19h00.
