European 112 Day marked in Famalicão - Portal do Município de Vila Nova de Famalicão - Portugal

The Municipality of Famalicão, through the Municipal Civil Protection Service, together with the European Club and the Camilo Castelo Branco School Group, will mark European 112 Day - the European emergency number - on 11 February.

The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness of the emergency number, which is the same throughout Europe and which operates free of charge, with trained operators responding in several languages to act and direct you to the competent services in an emergency situation. 

The event, which will bring together around 300 students from the Camilo Castelo Branco School Group, will introduce the Northern Operational Centre (CONOR) - the entity responsible for the European emergency number in Portugal - by presenting data on its operations and raising awareness of the correct use of the European emergency number, helping to raise awareness of the efficient management of resources in the emergency area.

The guest speaker at the event is CONOR Commander, Commissioner Hugo Correia.
