In 1984, the sports brand Nike goes through a difficult moment that causes a drop in sales. Phil Knight, the founder, hires Sonny Vaccaro in order to invest and grow the business in the basketball area. It is then that Sonny has a risky idea on which he puts all his hopes: propose a representation contract to Michael Jordan, a promising young man recently signed by the Chicago Bulls, and build a line of trainers around him. A biopic about the iconic Air Jordan 1, a range of trainers made of leather and enhanced with an air capsule in the sole, designed by Peter Moore, Tinker Hatfield and Bruce Kilgore for the Nike brand, which became a worldwide success that continues to this day. Although Michael Jordan was not involved in the production of this film, he made several suggestions to Affleck, including the proposal of Davis for the role of his mother.
